Hunting Girl
by Jethro Tull
[Em] One day I walked the road
and crossed a [D] field to [C] go
by where the hounds [G] ran [Am] hard.
[Em] And on the master raced:
behind the [D] hunters [C] chased
to [C] where the path [G] was [A5] barred.
One [C] fine young [D] lady's [G] horse [Am] refused
the [Em] fence to clear.
I un- [C] locked the [D] gate but [G] she did [Am] wait
until the pack had dis- [Bm] appeared.
[Em] [C] [D] [Em]
Crop handle carved in bone;
sat high upon a throne
of finest English leather.
The queen of all the pack,
this joker raised his hat
and talked about the weather.
All should be warned about this high born
Hunting Girl.
She took this simple man's downfall in hand;
I raised the flag that she unfurled.
[Em] [C] [D] [Em]
(2nd part)
[Am] Boot leather flashing and spurnecks
the [G] size of [F] my thumb. [Em]
[Am] This highborn hunter had tastes
as [G] strange as [F] they come.
[E] come!
* Instrumental over verse
[Am] Unbridled passion:
I took the [G] bit in [F] my teeth. [Em]
[Am] Her standing over me
on my [G] knees under- [F] neath.
[E] Underneath! Gah la la la!
[Em] [C] [D] [Em]
My lady, be discreet.
I must get to my feet
and go back to - the farm.
Whilst I appreciate
you are no deviate,
I might come to - some harm.
I'm not inclined to acts refined,
if that's how it goes.
Oh, high born Hunting Girl,
I'm just a normal low born so and so.
